[Lien Kha DID owe him one.
Being a private investigator and an informal information broker lands one in a lot of trouble and without the proper connections and self-management skills, one can only land in hot water so many times. Lien knew, after being pulled out of a nasty situation by one, Tajima Takahisa, that she can avoid being boiled alive if she got this punk as a backup while she was staying in Japan.
So that's why she's currently holding out her ungloved hand to the young man and with an extremely serious expression, she demands of him this:]
Alright. If we're gonna do this, you need to give me all your bank account information.

[Well, judging by the noise she makes, muffled by her head resting against his back, Lien Kha is very much alive.
The creature they confronted did not much care for their straightforward approach. It tried to cajole the pair with sweet and precious memories to be relived in exchange for their teeth but there was outright refusal; from there on out, it didn't go well but Takahisa pulled through and they managed to escape.
One of her hands is bare because one glove is stuffed into her pocket. Though she's exhausted and trying to process the events, Lien is conscious enough to cover her bare hand with her opposite gloved one since she's holding onto Takahisa.]
I'm... Existing but barely. God, I need to lie down somewhere. Touching that monster took a lot out of me.

[He suspects that Lien's mind is still going through quite the overload and needed to recharge. Whenever he thinks about it, her power must've been something like a curse too. You couldn't help the abilities that you were born with... Though he felt that this wasn't the time to be getting too introspective. Right now, they had to recover from their wounds.
Takahisa takes another turn and stops at an abandoned building. He takes a moment to pause as he senses out if anyone has broken the boundary seal or not. No, it looked like it was still up... Walking through it, Lien might something like a warm wave of water washing over her body as he heads towards the building and steps inside.]
Good thing I put those seals up. This secret base of mine is invisible to normies and low-level spirits and shit shouldn't be able to slip in.
[Once he walks into one of the rooms with some old furniture set up, Takahisa will bend down to carefully place Lien down on the couch. Right in front of her will be a table where he places the cake down as well.]
Alright, ya got any cuts or bruises anywhere? I've got a first aid kit lyin' around... So I can get ya patched up.
SLAMS OPEN THE DOOR
[The sensation of the boundary seal isn't lost on her. Her head lifts up out of interest but drops just as quickly out of exhaustion.]
Never mind.
[When Takahisa plops her onto the couch, she turns her back to him, wrapping one arm around her side and using her other hand to grab the glove in her back pocket. She's trying to slip it back on, but she's visibly shaking.]
That monster didn't bite any of my fingers off at least so I don't think I need any first aid.
[She'll have Ai Thao check her later though. Sighing, Lien curls up even more.]
So much for getting any success.
WELCOOOOME
[As always, Takahisa does his best to try the find the bright side in a bad situation. Though her hand doesn't go unnoticed by him... He couldn't help and show some concern for her. But he'll do a little test just make sure as he walks over to a drawer to pull out a knife and a set of forks along with a plate.]
And we get a chance to eat this cake to ourselves. Burning up that place works up an appetite!
[He'll be cutting a slice of the cake and putting it on a plate for Lien to take along with a fork.]
Eat up, boss. Our victory was on the bitter side, so we oughta wash those feelings away with somethin' sweet!

... Normally I wouldn't reject cake but uh... Yeah. My appetite tends to be crap after I use my powers like that.
[It's kind of the opposite of Ai Thao who's scarily voracious after using her abilities. Lien needs the energy but it's hard to have the stomach for it after being affected so strongly by visions.]
But, thank you.
[She actually sits up and takes the plate, putting it on her lap.]
I can try and enjoy it.
Are you okay by the way? You're weirdly chipper after all that.
